Freak On A Leash, named after the band’s 1998 hit song, features dog and cat clothing, toys, leashes, and collars, with designs by Jonathan’s stylist and friend Ashton Michael. The pieces, the guys will tell you, reflect Korn’s rock aesthetic and Ashton’s rebellious style, with gold accents, spikes, and a motorcycle leather motif.
Although Jonathan grew up extremely allergic to his pet dogs, he had a soft spot for them. Now he celebrates this love with his hypoallergenic phantom moyen poodle, outfitting him in the line’s products, which include matching clothes for dogs and owners.
“It’s a love you can’t get anywhere else. There’s no better kind of medicine in the world,” he says. “When I walk in the door, my dog just jumps on me. There’s something magic about that. It’s different from music.”
A portion of proceeds supports Pup Culture Rescue, a nonprofit organization in Pasadena, CA, dedicated to dog rescue and adoption education in the community.
With Freak On A Leash, Jonathan’s goal is to offer dog and cat accessory options that represent their owners, as he felt other pet lines weren’t to his taste. Mission accomplished — this gear is fit for a hard rocker pet.
