Amid starring in a Tame Impala video and preparing for the launch of an extensive fall tour, Joe Keery also found time to finish his second new album of 2025. The actor/musician, who records as Djo, today (Sept. 12) surprise released The Crux Deluxe, a 12-song companion to April’s The Crux. The project is described as “an entirely new album” as opposed to the usual “deluxe” edition with just a smattering of new material.

Keery wrote The Crux Deluxe songs at New York’s Electric Lady Studio during sessions for The Crux, and completed the songs “with the wisdom and hindsight of a year of non-stop touring.” The Crux followed Keery’s surprise 2024 viral success with “End of Beginning,” which has accrued 1.7 billion streams at Spotify.

Having just appeared as the title character in the video for Tame Impala’s latest new song, “Loser,” Keery is about to hit the road on his Another Bite tour featuring opening act Post Animal, of which he was once a member and has since rejoined. The trek starts Sept. 27 in New Haven, Ct., and runs through Oct. 20-21 at Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre.

Keery will also perform at the New York- and Washington, D.C.-area editions of the All Things Go festival later this month, and has signed on for Lollapalooza South America performances next March in Argentina, Chile and Brazil.

Last but not least, he’ll return to the small screen as Steve Harrington for the fifth and final season of Netflix’s Stranger Things, which premieres Nov. 26.
