Billy Strings and Post Malone joined forces to cover Johnny Cash’s “Cocaine Blues.” Malone joined Strings at his show in Southern California at the Observatory in Orange County.

Strings, the modern bluegrass prodigy, performed alongside his string-filled band with the Hollywood’s Bleeding rapper. “Billy Strings is the best to ever fucking do it,” Post Malone said when he walked onstage with a cigarette and a beer. After exchanging more than a few smiles, Malone and Strings took off the song as Malone sang while Strings plucked away.
Malone and Strings’ relationship was first appreciated via an Instagram post that Strings put up back in 2020.
Strings is currently on his spring tour, stopping along western U.S. cities. Tomorrow, he’ll be back in Las Vegas, following his Grammy performance, for a sold-out show at the Brooklyn Bowl. He is slated to perform in more U.S. cities throughout this summer and hit Europe this fall. Strings will be hitting a number of festivals this summer as well.
As for Malone, his long-awaited album is slated to be released soon.
Last year, we went in-depth with Strings. You can read our interview with him here.
