The thrilling, pop-rock single was co-produced by Barker, John Feldmann, and Mod Sun. Its forthcoming music video is in its final production stages, and is directed by Hannah Lux Davis. Last week, Lavigne teased her signing to Barker’s label on TikTok by performing a snippet of “Bite Me” with Barker on drums.

“Avril and I have been friends for a long time, but I think I’ve been a fan of hers even longer!” Barker said in a statement welcoming Lavigne to DTA Records. “She’s a true badass and an icon as a performer, songwriter, and presence. We had gotten in the studio earlier this year, and we were having so much fun that I knew I wanted to ask her to join the DTA team. I’m so stoked she’s now part of the label. I can’t wait for everybody to experience the incredible music she’s about to drop.”
Lavigne as yet to announce the actual dates, but she has confirmed a 2022 world tour. Both the “Bite Me” video and details of her tour are to be announced very soon.
“I am excited to be dropping ‘Bite Me,’” Lavigne said. “It’s an anthem about knowing your worth, what you deserve, and not giving someone a second chance who doesn’t deserve you.”
