“Basket Case” is off the band’s third studio album, their 1994 breakthrough Dookie. They are set to release their own The BBC Sessions album of rare live covers that is available for pre-order, digitally and on physical formats, out December 10. It includes rare recordings of their Maida Vale sessions from 1994, 1996, 1998, and 2001. “Basket Case” is the second drop from the band’s BBC recordings, having released “2000 Light Years Away (BBC Live Session)” last week, originally off their second studio record Kerplunk! from 1992.

Green Day will continue their massive Hella Mega tour, headlining with Fall Out Boy and Weezer, throughout Europe next June. They will kick off their first show on June 19, 2022 in Vienna at the Ernst-Happel Stadion, and close July 2, at the Paris La Defense Arena in Paris. Prior to the Hella Mega Europe dates, Green Day and Weezer are scheduled for a few shows in early June in Berlin, Norway, Sweden, and Italy.
The release of “Basket Case” follows the band’s release of their live KISS cover, and Hella Mega’s highlight performance, of “Rock And Roll All Nite,” released in September.
Their announcement of the newly released “Basket Case” recording came on the band’s Twitter account.
