Singer/songwriter Mitski has set a Feb. 27 release for her eighth studio album, Nothing’s About To Happen To Me (Dead Oceans), which is previewed by first single “Where’s My Phone.” The track is accompanied by a video directed by Noel Paul and based on the Shirley Jackson novel We Have Always Lived in the Castle. See it below.
Nothing’s About To Happen To Me is described as “a rich narrative whose main character is a reclusive woman in an unkempt house. Outside of her home, she is a deviant; inside of her home, she is free.” All songs were written by Mitski, while Patrick Hyland produced and engineered.
It’s the follow-up to 2023’s The Land Is Inhospitable and So Are We, which debuted at No. 12 on the Billboard 200.
