Paul McCartney will warm up for the Sept. 26 relaunch of his Got Back Tour in Palm Springs, Ca., with a performance three days earlier at the 4,500-capacity Santa Barbara Bowl. It will be the Beatle great’s first appearance at the historic venue, which will require fans to secure their phones in Yondr pouches for the duration of the evening.
Ticket registration is now open, and no seats will be available at the venue box office. The proper kickoff for the Got Back outing is set for Sept. 29 at Acrisure Arena.
It will be part of another busy stretch for the 83-year-old legend, including a documentary and book about his post-Beatles band Wings and a series of projects surrounding the 30th anniversary of the Beatles’ Anthology in November.
The book, Wings: The Story of a Band on the Run, his stores Nov. 4 from W.W. Norton and is “drawn from over 500,000 words of interviews with McCartney, family and band members and and other key participants.” It’s a companion to the Morgan Neville-directed documentary Man on the Run, which will be released Feb. 25, 2026, on Prime Video and in select theaters on a date yet to be announced.
The film begins with McCartney “navigating the aftermath of the break-up of the Beatles, facing down myriad challenges while creating new music that would ultimately become the defining soundtrack of a new decade.” It is said to be “the definitive document of Paul’s emergence from the dissolution of the world’s biggest band, and his triumphant creation of a second decade of musical milestones.”
As for the Beatles’ Anthology celebration, fans can look forward to restored versions of the original documentary episodes starting Nov. 26 on Disney+, as well as a bonus ninth episode chronicling the then-surviving Beatles crafting new songs in the mid-1990s out of unheard demos from the late John Lennon.
An expanded version of the chart-topping Anthology compilations arrives Nov. 21, while The Beatles Anthology book will be back in a 25th anniversary edition on Oct. 14 from Chronicle Books.
