Sky Ferreira announced last week that she was going to release her first song since 2019’s “Downhill Lullaby.” Today, it happened. Titled “Don’t Forget,” the song is a glimpse into her long-awaited second album, Masochism, which has been in the works since 2015.
The song was produced by Ferreira and longtime collaborator Jorge Elbrecht and recorded at Capitol Records’ Studio B in Hollywood. She first teased the song’s existence in March and hinted that it was going to be out in April. But hey, better late than never, right?
Prior to the release of “Downhill Lullaby,” the last time Ferreira released a song was in 2013, which is also when her debut album, Night Time, My Time, arrived. In the years since that album’s release, Ferreira has released songs with the likes Charli XCX, Primal Scream and The Jesus + Mary Chain.
Ferreria has featured in film and TV shows like Baby Driver, Elvis & Nixon, Lords of Chaos, The Twilight Zone and Jordan Peele’s rebooted Twin Peaks.
