Roxy Music is reuniting for their first tour since 2011 in celebration of the 50th anniversary of its self-titled debut album, the legendary British group announced this morning.
Vocalist Bryan Ferry, saxophonist Andy Mackay, guitarist Phil Manzanera and drummer Paul Thompson will return to the road in September for 10 North American arena shows, followed by three gigs in the United Kingdom. St. Vincent will open all but one of the North American performances, with a U.K. opener yet to be announced.
In further celebration of the debut LP’s anniversary, the 2019 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees will reissue all eight of their studio albums in deluxe vinyl editions. Roxy Music and 1973’s For Your Pleasure (the last Roxy Music album to feature early member Brian Eno) will arrive on April 1, with the other six to be released in pairs throughout 2022.
Roxy Music has not released a studio album under its own name since 1982’s Avalon, although Ferry has featured the group’s members on his solo releases for years. Most recently, he remade several Roxy Music tracks in a vintage jazz style on his 2018 album Bitter-Sweet, which included Mackay on two songs. Ferry is also releasing a new solo EP, Love Letters, this spring.
