With everyone sequestered and self-quarantining due to the coronavirus, we’ve asked our favorite artists to come up with playlists that keep you entertained. Here is Los Angeles- based rapper/producer gnash:

Hey, i’m gnash, but for a couple months i’ve been Garrett at home & i’ve been listening to music in a whole new way so i wanted some of those songs with u.

“leave” – gnash
so without further ado, let’s get into the tunes. this first song is my new single leave, because well, i don’t want you to leave …your house right now. unless absolutely necessary. like, really. my parents are in their 60-70s. thanks 🙂

“Three Little Birds” – Bob Marley
this song always gets me ready for my day. I could be in a whatever mood & every time i put this on i’m feeling good. i hope this helps start your day wherever you are.

“Say Yes” – Elliott Smith
i live in silver lake & i’m connected to elliott smith’s music more than ever when i take a walk or go outside around here. although most of his music isn’t for this kinda playlist, i feel like this one has an optomistic tone, so i threw it in here. if you haven’t listened to enough elliott smith like i hadn’t until recently, go for it now.

“Holocene” – Bon Iver
this one makes me feel like i’m in the snowy midwest with my family & traveling & taking a drive down pch to get home when i was 16 all at once. all of his music does, was hard to pick a favorite. i have realized that i don’t have a favorite & that everything justin vernon makes is my actual favorite thing.

“Banana Pancakes” – Jack Johnson
i’ve been doing some comfortable comfortin’ comfort eating to say the least during this quarantine. this is my saturday morning “i’m ordering pancakes & staying in bed til noon watching superstore BECAUSE I CAN” anthem. if you’re looking for more serious jack songs for this time that help me & play on loop in my head all the time, check out “you can’t control it”, “sleep through the static”, & “losing keys”.

“Lovely Day” – Bill Withers
we all miss bill withers. he left one of the best catalogs of music of all time behind. this is a great “walk with a pep in my step” song for my daily outside time. even when it’s not, this songs helps me feel like it’s all gonna be okay”

“Such Great Heights” – The Postal Service
i’ve heard some songs so many times they make me feel like i’m home. i feel like i’m floating when i listen to this. i always try to hope for the best, but i think since we’re all afraid of losing someone right now, this might help until we see them again.

“Waterloo Sunset” – The Kinks
well, because we can’t travel right now, we’re not in the uk for this wedding we were supposed to be at. this song makes me feel like i’m there, or just traveling in general, & it always brightens my day because it reminds me even cloudy days have pretty sunsets.

“The Sound of Silence” – Simon & Garfunkel
there’s been a lot of silence around the house lately, but it doesn’t have to be a bad thing. this song also just proves acoustic guitar & vocals always makes me feel better because it’s more like having a conversation than a song.

“Crusin’”- D’Angelo
I know we’re not supposed to go outside, but every now & then i take a short drive to the grocery store or post office, & this is great for that moment. p.s. support usps & buy stamps!

“All Things Must Pass”- George Harrison
one of the best songs about the life cycle ever, probably the best. the only fear is death. it helps me know everything I get so worried about will be okay & eventually work out how it’s supposed to or how it’s meant to be. so like snoop dogg taught us, let it go.

“Rainbow Connection” – Kermit
who knew a video of a little green frog puppet on a log would be what lets me know it’s all gonna be okay today.

“Once a Day” – Mac Miller
the demo version of this song has been helping me get through the days since mac passed away last year. as a fan it still doesn’t feel real, but when i listen to this it’s like he’s sitting right here next to me.

“All You Need Is Love” – The Beatles
& love is all we need 🙂 thanks for listening, i hope this helps.
