Sublime took the stage at downtown Manhattan’s Silver Lining Lounge on Aug. 20 to perform an intimate unplugged set for a few hundred lucky fans. The sold-out show was part of the Lipps Service Live! Concert Series hosted by Lipps Service’s Scott Lipps.
Now led by late frontman Bradley Nowell’s son Jakob, Sublime played classics and deep cuts, including “Santeria,” “Saw Red,” “Wrong Way” and a cover of Bob Marley and the Wailers’ “Jailhouse.” Celebrities such as rapper G-Eazy, actor Evan Mock, actor Simone Ashley, Shannon Wise of Fcukers, Will Harrison, Big Mike and Alex Da Kid were in attendance.
The series is an outgrowth of the Lipps Service podcast, which since 2018 has featured many of the biggest voices and personalities in music, including exclusive interviews with Anthony Kiedis, David Lee Roth, Hozier, Maynard James Keenan, the Police’s Stewart Copeland, Mick Fleetwood, Nikki Sixx, Dove Cameron, Perry Farrell and the Kills.
Sublime is on tour throughout the fall. The band’s latest single, “Ensanada,” was released in July.
